I was really excited for this road race since there was a mountain top finish, plus the route was spectacular through the most beautiful parts of the Cape. The final climb was not very steep, but around 30km before the finish we had to race up a switchback climb which was super steep and on concrete. First Place

It was good to be in a competitive racing team again!
Last year we put a fun mixed team together. The waiting for my mtb leg- which is second last of the seven disciplines- made my cry already last year.

Training, training, training... I want racing! But luckily I am in Stellenbosch! The conditions are perfect as always and it is much more living then "russian style" training camp!
Although sometimes I think I have to toughen up before my hard training sessions, but once I am pedaling I am actually ending up pushing the pedals harder then is suppose to do. Time is flying as we all know... Now I am in South Africa again preparing for the new season. Legs are hurting but I am getting into a good training routine. It feels nice to sweat again and pushing the body. On the other side I don't have plenty energy left for something else. The moments when lying down where ever is the best!

Great times again at Wines2Whales, a 3 day stage race from the wine lands to the sea. Unfortunately the last stage got cancelled due very heavy rain and cold temperatures, so non of us seen the sea. It was a wise decision by the organizer, because lots of us have been underdressed, so as the rescue helicopter could not fly ether.

I partnered up with South African Max Knox for this years Cape Pioneer. A strong and very fun partner, all I needed for extending my racing holidays.
