Unfortunately THE race of the season was the muddiest so far this season. When I woke up Sunday morning I could not trust my ears any more. After a week of plenty of sunshine I could hear big raindrops falling down on our hotels balcony.
It took me a while to accept it, but when I was on the startline I was really ready to go!
But with hitting the first mud I realized that I did not have the power to dig me and my bike through the deep sticky soil, and also jumping on and off the bike for the running section broke my rhythm.
When I was riding around 15th. place I also bent by front derailleur with a chain suck and this was the end.
The warm shower in the hotel was a real treatment, but nothing like to compare to win a world champion medal.
