At 8 o'clock we allreaday had to be ready at the start line today! Cedric Cracia, our downhill specialist who I was rooming with, did the race as well. Like this I did not feel so weard and alone to get up allready at 5.30, which is very early for a cyclist.
It was still super rainy as it was yesterday, and it did not stop the hole day!
I was very happy that the race profile showed a very long climb, and then all the way down to the finish, while I could not wait for a warm shower afterwards. Probably this made me fast legs and I went into the downhill first with the Austrian champion. There I made up a pretty good gap on him untill my brand new rear weel started falling apart. This happens sometimes when you use a brand new wheel the first time. The spokes came all loose and the tire even touched my frame. At least I managed to finish the race, but I lost my first victory of the season and got second.
Anyway, I was so happy after I have been in my room again, and the warm shower was the best treat I could imagine!
