Hey Christoph,
Tough luck with the outcome of the appeal!! I reckon that you should simply move on and focus all your efforts on the upcoming Olympic games and remaining World Cup races. I am confident that you will be victorious at the games!! Keep the faith and stay focused...

Viel Glück für Olympia! on

Hallo Christoph,

sprint on

You can see the whole sprint on youtube or here:

Christoph did, imo, deviate from his line when they came out of the turn. Roel had to brake. Later, he tried again to pass Christoph and they fell. Also, the rules are different for mountainbike races: you can be disqualified if you 'obstruct', in road races, you may not deviate from your line, so you're ok, even if you obstruct, as long as you stay on your line: http://www.uci.ch/english/about/rules.htm.
However, Christoph is well on his way to become the greatest mtbiker of his generation and not absalon, who doesn't do marathons. Good luck in Peking! |

Marathon Worlds on

| like many, I have watched the sprint and judging from the last few seconds of the sprint, no error was made on your part. RP was trying to squeeze in through a gap that wasn't there between the barriers and yourself. Your only error may have been if you moved him to the barriers as he started to come around, but I did not see the entire sprint, only the final few seconds. Refer to the 2003 TDF when Rene Hassalbacher (sp?) of gerolsteiner crashed out of the sprint, almost taking out McCewen and Cooke. He was trying to squeeze a gap that wasn't there and was found at fault, despite having been the one that crashed. Not exactly the same but similar. |

World Marathon Champs on

| Hello from Mexico Cristoph, I just wanted to mention that no matter what happens with UCI's decision, you're a true champion and you won the final sprint, fair & clear. My recommendation would be, let it go, don't waste your energy & time on fighting with the UCI and focus on the Olympics. What a better way to show to the UCI who the real champion is than to win the gold medal in Beijing? A clearly poor decision to move you to second place should not stand in your way to success. Can't wait to see you in gold on August! |
